Objectives of the Centre
- Facilitate high quality research and teaching in Asia Pacific
studies based on capacities in Australian Universities, and
support the internationalisation of such knowledge and expertise.
- Establish sustainable networks and collaborations for Asia-Pacific
interests and activities – among scholars, students,
representatives of government and NGOs, business, and industry.
- Create additional means through which Australia’s
Asia-Pacific expertise can be showcased: through international
conferences, public lectures and seminars, attraction of eminent
visitors to Australia and the region, staff and student exchanges,
enhanced recruitment of international students to Australian
universities, enhanced access to Australian-based materials
on Asia and the Pacific.
